Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a cooling operation to be easily started by a method wherein a thin film member between a refrigerant storing chamber and an evaporating chamber is broken only by releasing a closed opening arranged in the refrigerant storing chamber and then the refrigerant is guided to a refrigerant absorbing sheet. CONSTITUTION: An upper wall 16 of a refrigerant storing chamber is provided with a closed opening 15. An inner side of the refrigerant storing chamber 8 is divided into an upper section and a lower section by a diaphragm 12, wherein the upper space is reduced in its pressure to have the same value as those of an adsorbing chamber 2 and an evaporating chamber 3 and the lower space is filled with refrigerant 14. A thin film member 10 closing an opening 9 between the refrigerant storing chamber 8 and the evaporating chamber 3 is broken only through releasing of the closed opening 15 and mere downward motion of a rod 11 arranged at the diaphragm 12, wherein the refrigerant 14 flows within a hollow pipe 17, is evaporated at the refrigerant absorbing sheet 7 so as to cool an item 6 to be cooled within the storing chamber 4. With such an arrangement as above, mere releasing of the closed opening enables the cooling operation to be started.
