Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable both cooling and heating operations to be carried out through a substantial independent refrigerant circulating cycle by a method wherein each of a plurality of indoor heat exchangers is selected independently to communicate to each other through a changing-over operation of each of a liquid changing-over circuit and a gas changing-over circuit. CONSTITUTION: Each of a plurality of indoor heat exchangers 31 to 33, both a first liquid pipe 21 and a first gas pipe 17 or both a second liquid pipe 22 and a second gas pipe 18 is selected independently or optionally through a changing-over operation of each of a liquid side changing-over circuit 40 and a gas side changing-over circuit 60 so as to communicate to each other. For example, when the indoor heat exchanger 31 communicates with each of the first liquid pipe 21 and the first gas pipe 17, and each of the indoor heat exchangers 32, 33 communicates with each of the second liquid pipe 22 and the second gas pipe 18, respectively, a refrigerant circulating circuit for a first outdoor heat exchanger 19 and an indoor heat exchanger 31 is formed independently at a first four-way changing-over valve 5, and a refrigerant circulating circuit for a second outdoor heat exchanger 20, indoor heat exchangers 32, 33 is formed at a second four-way changing-over valve 6 connected to a second compressor 2 in a substantial independent manner. In this way, it is possible to perform a concurrent cooling or heating operation.
