Abstract

PURPOSE:To optimize the voltage of a discharge electrode by inputting the output from the temp. sensor and/or pressure sensor provided to the casing of the title electrostatic precipitator to a signal converter, and inputting the output from the signal converter to the voltage controller for a dust collecting electrode. CONSTITUTION:The temp. sensor 8 and/or pressure sensor 8' are provided at the predetermined position of the casing 1 of the electrostatic precipitator. The output from the sensors 8 and 8' is inputted to the signal converter 11, and the output from the signal converter 11 is inputted to the voltage (current) controller 10 for the dust collecting electrode 9. The temp. and/or pressure in the precipitator used under high temp. and/or high pressure are detected, and the corona discharge voltage is controlled based on the detection value. As a result, the variations in the discharge voltage are controlled, when the precipitator is operated at the temp. or pressure greatly different from the rated operating temp. or pressure, especially when the temp. or pressure is increased and decreased in the starting and stopping of the precipitator, or when the precipitator is operated at low temp. or low pressure in the low-load operation. Consequently, the dust collecting function of the precipitator can be stably maintained.
