Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a clear distinction between an overdischarge shelf battery necessary for reverse charge and an overdischarge shelf battery not necessary for reverse charge by comparing magnitude of AC voltage component with specific standard value after flowing charged current compulsorily during a specific period by using DC power supply including an AC voltage component. CONSTITUTION:When a switch SW is turned off, a detective operation delay circuit 3 starts to compute time limit. In case the inside resistance of a battery B is high, when the detective operation delay circuit 3 completes the computing of time limit and SW11 and SW12 are turned off, a charging end voltage detector 4 immediately outputs a charging end voltage detection signal S2 to a current value switching control circuit 7. An AC voltage component detection signal S3 is immediately outputted from an AC voltage component detector 5. Upon receiving this signal, a voltage polarity switching signal S5 is outputted from a voltage polarity switching command circuit 6a, a switch SW21 and SW22 are switched to contact b, and voltage of reverse polarity is applied to a battery B.
