CONSTITUTION:A transparent and insulative light conducting layer 26 for taking out through light emission at a light emitting layer 24 is formed in an EL device for light source filled with EL elements having light emitting layer on the base board 21. Thereby the light from this light emitting layer 24 passes chiefly through the light conducting layer 26, and light absorption for being taken out can be lessened very much, and when the light conducting layer 26 is extended to the portion with no light emitting layer 24, it is now practicable to apply sealing technique, that should enhance anti-humidity property to a great extent.
