Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled high-purity compound useful for fine chemical industry, etc., without containing any trichlorosilane in high yield, by reacting cyclopolysiloxanes with a trichloromethyl group-containing aromatic compound.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Cyclopolysiloxanes (preferably permethylcyclopolysiloxane or 3W6 Si cyclopolysiloxanes) are reacted with (B) a trichloroimethyl group- containing aromatic compound (preferably benzotrichlorides, especially benzotrichloride) preferably in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst such as ferric chloride which stirring to afford the aimed compound.
