Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for system initialization by using a memory free from power failure as the memory part where a normally executed microprogram is stored. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 15 is turned on, a microprogram processing part 11 performs the read/write test of a memory part 12 and reads out the microprogram held in an external storage means 10 and writes it in the memory part 12 together with parity. After this write, the parity check of the memory part 12 is performed and execution of the microprogram written in the memory part 12 is started. When the switch 15 is turned off, the microprogram is not loaded from the means 10 on the memory part 12 and the parity check of the memory part 12 is performed and execution of the microprogram already stored in the memory part 12 is started. Thus, it is unnecessary to load the microprogram at the time of system initialization.
