Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent agglomerates of fine additive particles from remaining at the time of mixing toner particles with said fine particles containing their own agglomerates and to obtain a toner capable of forming an image stable in image quality by mixing both while disintegrating the agglomerates in a mixing device capable of disintegrating the agglomerates, too. CONSTITUTION:The dry toner composition is produced by mixing the toner particles composed of a binder resin and a colorant with the fine additive particles containing the agglomerates and disintegrating them at the same time in the mixing device capable of disintegrating the agglomerates, too. The mixer 11 is provided with a screen-attached guide plate 14 fixed in the inside, and screens 13 are fixed to the blades of a rotor 18, and the agglomerates contained in the fine additive particles are struck with the screen 13 by rotation of the rotor 18 and disintegrated. The mixture of the toner particles and the fine additive particles collides with the screen attached guide plate 14 and the agglomerates are disintegrated also here, thus permitting the toner composition for developing an electrostatic latent image to be easily prepared and an image superior in image quality to be obtained.
