Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a low-pressure-fixable toner for electrophotography or the like stabilized in fixing and developing performances, by mixing solvent-soluble hollow fine particles with a toner powder, and treating the mixture of powders. CONSTITUTION:Hollow fine particles, such as microbaloons are mixed with a toner powder containing prescribed components in an amount of 0.01-150% basing on the total weight of the toner, and undergo the following treatments of melting, kneading, and pulverizing to 1-30mum size. This powder is immersed in an aqueous 10% NaOH solution or the like and stirred to dissolve the hollow fine particles, and washed with water, and dried, thus permitting the greater part of the hollow particles to be removed by this treatment, the toner to contain the remainder 11 of the dissolved hollow particles in a resin 12, to have roughened surfaces and fine through holes in the inside of each particles, therefore to be fixed with low pressure, and a high quality image to be obtained.
