Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a resin for a toner preventing the aggregation of toner particles and having superior shelf stability and fixability by mixing and dispersing restricted amounts of styrene or an acrylic polymer, wax and an ethylene copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A resin for a toner is manufactured by mixing 100pts.wt. mixture consisting of 70-30wt% styrene and 30-70wt% polyethylene wax with 20pts.wt. ethylene-acrylic ester copolymer (EEA), dispersing them, and carrying out bulk polymn. at 120 deg.C for 5hr. When toners are manufactured using the resin, all of the toners have high pressure fixability as shown by examples 2-4. As shown by comparisons 2, 3, excess styrene causes inferior fixability, and excess wax causes inferior shelf stability and produces insufficient results with respect to pulverizability and image quality.
