Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner fixable in a wide temp. range by adding a graft copolymer having moieties of a branched vinyl polymer at 2 kinds of stock polymer moieties of a crystalline polymer of a monomer selected from 3 kinds of monomers such as ethylene and unsatd. polyester. CONSTITUTION:As a binder a graft copolymer is prepared consisting of 1-30 pts.wt. moieties (A) of a crystalline stock polymer of >=1 kinds of monomers selected from ethylene, propylene and vinyl acetate with 45-200 deg.C m.p., 40-70pts.wt. moieties (B) of an unsated. polyester stock polymer with 40-70 deg.C glass transition point and 30-60pts.wt. moieties (C) of a branched vinyl polymer with >=40 deg.C glass transition point. Using the binder optionally together with other binding resin a toner contg. a colorant, magnetic powder, etc. is manufactured. This toner has about 120 deg.C minimum fixing temp., can be fixed in the wide temp. range of 120-250 deg.C and causes no offsetting phenomenon. It has the desired triboelectric charging quantity without using a charging controller and gives a superior image.
