Abstract
PURPOSE:To actively damp the vibration of a vibrated body occurring along with drive for readily realizing precise positioning and high speed operation by emitting sound waves for damping vibration toward a vibrated section. CONSTITUTION:Vibration damping sound waves are emitted toward a vibrated section so that the sound pressure may restrain the vibration of a vibrated body. Actual positioning devices or high speed operation devices may have a plurality of characteristic value resonance in their transfer characteristics, i.e., free vibration is generated at these characteristic values due to step feed movements, for example. When the vibration damping sound waves to which generated free vibration constituents are synthesized beforehand are emitted from a sound loud speaker to the vibrated section, a vibration damping effect is achieved. Although in actuality, the power, phase and location of the sound loud speaker must be considered based upon the mechanism, vibration mode and frequency, the damping effect of the free vibration constituent generated due to the characteristic value particularly is exhibited in damping large vibration by even small sound pressure because of the relation of machine impedance.
