CONSTITUTION:Detected values from an air flow meter 2, a water temperature sensor 6, a crank angle sensor 7, an exhaust gas sensor 9, a pressure sensor 13 detecting cylinder internal pressure and the like are inputted into a control device 12 so as to perform an operational control for the valve opening time of a fuel injection valve 10. The control device 13 memories both maximum cylinder internal pressure and the crank angle at the time of the aforesaid pressure developed every cycle so as to estimate the maximum cylinder internal gas temperature on the basis of the maximum cylinder pressure, the cylinder capacity at that time, an amount of suction air and revolutions.
