Abstract

PURPOSE:To lower the fluctuation of an air-fuel ratio per cycle by correcting the basic quantity of fuel injection operated based on an amount of suction air and revolutions by use of the maximum value of a pressure increasing rate within an ignition cycle measured through both the crank angle and cylinder pressure. CONSTITUTION:Detected values from an air flow meter 2, a water temperature sensor 6, a crank angle sensor 7, an exhaust gas sensor 9 and a pressure sensor 13 detecting cylinder internal pressure are inputted into a control unit 12 so as to perform an operational control for the valve opening time of a fuel injection valve 10. The control unit 12 obtains the increasing rate of cylinder internal pressure every specified crank angle based on the detected values from the crank angle sensor 7 and the pressure sensor 13 so as to estimate an actual air-fuel ratio based on the maximum value thereof or the average value of the maximum values for specified cycles. Then, the correction is made for the basic quantity of fuel injection in such a way that the estimated air-fuel ratio shall be a target air-fuel ratio corresponding to both an amount of suction air and revolutions.
