Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a superconductor in a short time by irradiating a molded body of a specified raw material with laser beam in oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of oxide of L (wherein L is at least one among yttrium and lanthanoids), oxide of Cu, and oxide of M (wherein M is at least one among elements of the group IIa of the periodic table), is molded and calcined at 800-950 deg.C to obtain an L-M-Cu-O type superconductor. The superconductor 5 is then mounted on a work table 6, and irradiated with laser beam 4 having 0.24-0.8W/mm<2> energy density generated by a laser generator 1 and passed through a condenser lens 2, for 40sec-30min. At the same time, shield gas 7 from a laser torch 3 is blown to the superconductor 5, and O2 is blown simultaneously as side sealing gas 8 from a side shielding nozzle 9.
