Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the volume resistivity of the titled powder and to improve the stability and electrical conductivity by allowing SnO2 particles contg. Sb as solid soln. to exist on the surfaces of platy hematite particles. CONSTITUTION:An aq. suspension contg. SnO2 hydrate particles contg. Sb and platy hematite particles is prepd. The suspension is mixed and stirred to deposit the SnO2 hydrate particles on the surfaces of the platy hematite particles. The resulting particles are separated by filtration, washed, dried and calcined at 400-800 deg.C to obtain electrically conductive iron oxide powder consisting of platy hematite particles having <=5X10<6>OMEGA-cm volume resistivity.
