CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 14 consists of a CPU 14a, a ROM 14b storing a control program therein, and a RAM storing various data, such as paper thickness data, a paper number format, and printing data. Firstly, whether a present distance from a printing head to a platen is coincident with a proper distance is judged. After the present distance of the printing head 7 is made coincident with the proper distance, the distance is stored in the RAM 14c. According to the printing data stored in the RAM 14c, drive circuits 17, 18, 19, and 20 are driven to conduct printing to a part (a) of a recording medium P.
