CONSTITUTION:A difference between a cut target current value Is of a grinding stone rotating motor 24 and a detecting current value of a current detecting circuit to detect a drive current value Im of the motor 24 at intervals of a given time and a wear correction factor are corrected based on the interval of this time. By using the corrected wear correction factor, a correction cut amount D is orderly calculated by means of a wear correcting means 64, and by adding the result to a target cut amount R, a decrease in a grinding amount D (a cut amount) to wear of a rotary grinding stone is corrected, and a rolling roll is ground in a desired shape by means of a normally accurate grinding amount.
