Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve transfer efficiency by previously and separately adding and mixing fine powder of hydrophobic silica to and with a polymerized toner and a fatty acid metal salt to and with carrier particles, then mixing the respective mixtures. CONSTITUTION:The fine powder of hydrophobic silica is previously and separately added and mixed to and with the polymerized toner and the fatty acid metal salt to and with the carrier particles and thereafter, the respective mixtures are mixed with each other. The hydrophobic silica and the polymerized toner are, therefore, mixed by removing a liquid dispersion medium after dispersing the hydrophobic silica and the polymerized toner particularly in said dispersion medium. On the other hand, the fatty acid metal salt is mixed with the carrier particles and, therefore, thermal shearing force is not applied to the polymerized toner and the fatty acid metal salt as a lubricant is surely and uniformly stuck thereto. The transfer efficiency is thereby improved.
