Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a polyester yarn free from the cutting of the yarn and from occurrence of twist and tension irregularities and having good shape and quality, by adhering a sizing agent to the polyester yarn and subsequently applying a hard twisting operation to the adhered polyester yarn while utilizing water. CONSTITUTION:A polyester raw yarn 1, for example, wound into a pirn 2 is brought into contact with a sizing agent solution in a bath 4 by the use of a roller 3 to adhere the sizing agent 9 to the raw yarn. Subsequently, the sizing agent-adhered polyester yarn 10 is rewound on a flanged bobbin 5 and subjected to the first wooden bobbin winding process while preferably utilizing water 7 to wind up the polyester yarn on a wooden bobbin 6. The wound yarn is further dipped in a water bath and subjected to a low temperature drying process and subsequently to a hard twisting process of 1,000-4,000 turns/min, whereby the yarn wound up on the bobbin or the like has no irregularity and is homogeneously taken out.
