Abstract

PURPOSE: To take anti-theft measures successfully by providing a stopper to be energized inward of the locus of sliding movement of a sliding element from the outside of the sliding element, near the rear end of a deadbolt during locking action, and forming inclined faces whereby the stopper is allowed to escape out of the locus of sliding movement of the bolt during unlocking action. CONSTITUTION: A speed reduction mechanism 9 connected to a motor 6, a sliding element 15, and a deadbolt 16 are provided in a case 5 embedded in a door 2. A spring 21 is provided between the sliding element 15 and the bolt 16, and the sliding element 15 and the bolt 16 are provided with respective locking parts 18, 20 for limiting the ranges of sliding movements relative to each other. A stopper 23 to be energized by a torsion spring 22 is provided freely movably in a direction perpendicular to the locus of sliding movement of the sliding element 15. Inclined faces 24 which broaden toward the rotating loose end of a door 2 are formed at both the upper and lower edges of the supporter 13 of the sliding element 15, and the stopper 23 is displaced inward of the locus of sliding movement of the sliding element 15 and opposed to the rear end of the bolt 16 during locking action. During unlocking action, the stopper 23 is forced out of the locus of sliding movement of the bolt 16. Therefore, the results of anti-theft measures can be enhanced.
