Abstract

PURPOSE:To impart metallic luster to a sheet-like material at a low cost with high productivity by applying a resin on the sheet-like material and spraying silver ammonia complex ions and reducing agent simultaneously thereon to form a silver plating film, then applying a transparent resin thereon. CONSTITUTION:The resin is applied on the sheet-like material such as cloth to cover the surface contamination, etc., to uniformize the silver plating film of the ensuing stage. An aq. soln. contg. the silver ammonia complex ions and an aq. soln. of the reducing agent such as hydrazine are then simultaneously sprayed in the state of mist onto the resin-coated surface. The aq. soln. contg. said silver ammonia complex ions is obtd. by adding a proper volume of aq. ammonia to an aq. silver nitrate soln. Spraying is executed by using a spray gun, etc. Metal silver is thereby deposited on the sprayed surface to form the silver plating film thereon. The transparent resin contg. or without contg. a colored paint is thereafter applied on the plated surface to protect the thin silver plating film and further to color the film. The sheet-like material having the excellent metallic luster is thereby easily obtd.
