Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the opening or the closing distance, that is, the opening or the closing period of moving valve plates of a valve which consists of the moving valve plates and a plurality of fixed valve plates between which the moving valve plates are put by forming a plurality of communication holes in each of the moving valve plates and each of the fixed valve plates to communicate them with each other. CONSTITUTION:The plug hole 1a of an ignition plug 3, an intake passage 1b and an exhaust passage 1c are formed in a cylinder head 1. A valve 5 opening and closing both the passages 1b and 1c is placed therein, as to be driven by an actuator 6. The valve 5 consists of both an intake valve 7 and an exhaust valve 8 and each of them consists of both a moving valve plate 9 consisting of both an intake moving valve plate 12 and an exhaust moving valve plate 13, and a plurality of fixed valve plates 10 and 11 between which said moving valve plate 9 is put. In such case a plurality of communication holes 10b and 11b is formed in each of the fixed valve plates 10 and 11. In addition, a plurality of communication holes 12c and 13c is formed in each of the moving valve plates 12 and 13.
