Abstract
PURPOSE:To develop a steel sheet plated with Sn which is excellent in corrosion resistance and is used for canning by forming a layer plated with Sn-Ni-Fe alloy and a layer plated with Sn and furthermore forming a layer plated with Sn-Ni partially thereon on the inner surface of a can made of the steel sheet used as a material for canning of food products. CONSTITUTION:In the case of producing a steel sheet plated with Sn used as a material for canning of fruits and drinks, etc. firstly Ni plating or Sn-Ni alloy plating or Sn-Ni-Fe alloy plating of 10-100mg/m<2> as Ni is performed on the surface of the part made to the inner surface of a can in the steel sheet 4. Then Sn plating is performed thereon at the amount of 1.0-11.2g/m<2> and furthermore Sn-Ni plating of 10-100mg/m<2> as Ni is performed and thereafter these are heated at the temp. not lower than m.p. of Sn and thereby an Sn-Ni-Fe alloy layer 3, an Sn layer 2 and an Sn-Ni alloy layer 1 covering its surface at the ratio of 50-95% are formed on the surface of the steel sheet 4. The steel sheet plated with Sn which is excellent in corrosion resistance to the contents of canning and is used for canning is obtained.
