Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode having good performance, specifically good cycle life by forming a battery electrode by two layers of a Li-Al alloy layer and an aluminium layer. CONSTITUTION:A battery electrode is formed by two layers of a Li-Al alloy layer and an aluminium layer. The thickness of the Li-Al alloy is preferable to make thicker 0.5-3.5 times than that of the aluminium layer. By the electrode having two layer structure, the aluminium layer acts as a reinforcement of the Li-Al alloy layer which is brittle, and the Li-Al alloy layer prevents the formation of dendrite and passivation. In addition, to obtain discharge capacity equivalent to charged capacity, lithium, which is usually in short supply, can previously be retained in aluminium. As a result, excellent battery performance can be obtained.
