Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the quantity of light incident on a photoelectric conversion part automatically with high accuracy by varying the density of a transmission part which varies in density by sensing an ultraviolet ray corresponding to the level of a video signal. CONSTITUTION:This controller is equipped with an ultraviolet-ray lamp 7 which varies in brightness corresponding to the video signal led out of part of a video signal amplifying circuit 3 and the transmission member (photochromic glass) 9 which varies in transmitted light quantity with the ultraviolet ray from the ultraviolet-ray lamp 7. The ultraviolet ray from the ultraviolet-ray lamp 7 is reflected by a filter or prism 8 which reflects ultraviolet rays and transmits visible light to illuminate the photochromic glass 9. Consequently, the quantity of light incident on the photoelectric conversion part 2 is controlled by the photochromic glass 9 corresponding to the brightness of an object field.
