Abstract

PURPOSE:To output the detection signal of the crank shaft angle and the cylinder discrimination signal concurrently with high accuracy by forming the stator of a pulse generator with composite magnetic materials and two detection coils. CONSTITUTION:The first detection coil 3 is wound on many composite magnetic materials 1, 4, 5 aligned around a cylindrical body, and the second detection coils 6, 7 are wound independently on the composite magnetic materials 1, 5 to form a cylindrical magnetic sensing device as a stator 15. Pulse signals from the detection coils 3, 6, 7 generated when the magnetic field of a rotor 17 is applied to the stator 15 are used in conjunction with the control signal of an electronic circuit to perform the optimum control of the ignition of each cylinder of an engine. In the composite magnetic materials 1, 4, 5, only the magnetization direction of the portion with the relatively small magnetic coercive force is shifted to the negative direction by the action of an auxiliary magnet Ma and reversed to the positive direction like the portion with the large magnetic coercive force by the action of the next main magnet Mm, then it is shifted quickly in particular manner.
