Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve ability to follow up a torque command and the accuracy of a performance test by biasly adding a dead band part per number of revolutions being existent in the characteristics of torque output for a throttle stroke to a stroke command. CONSTITUTION:An engine 1 to be tested is coupled with a DC dynamo meter 3 through a torque meter 2, and torque detected by the torque meter 2 is inputted into an axial torque control amplifier 6 through a converter 5. The axial torque control amplifier 6 issues a command for a throttle stroke according to deviation between set torque and a conversion torque detecting signal issued from the converter 5 to hydraulically control a hydraulic actuator for controlling a throttle opening. A detecting signal issued from a detector 4 for number of revolutions is inputted into a speed control amplifier 11 and a dead stroke setting apparatus 14, and a dead stroke is thereby computed according to the number of revolutions, and added to the output of the axial torque control amplifier 6.
