Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the sludge treating efficiency by treating the digested sludge from an anaerobic digestion tank with an alkali, dehydrating the treated sludge, acidifying the separated liq. from dehydration, concentrating the deposit, and returning the concd. deposit to the digestion tank. CONSTITUTION:The digested sludge discharged from the anaerobic digestion tank is treated with an alkali, and then dehydrated. The separated liq. from dehydration is then acidified, and the formed deposit is concd. and returned to the digestion tank. In this case, the alkali such as sodium hydroxide is added to the digested sludge, and the alkali is added until the pH of sludge is appropriately controlled to about 11-13. The liq. separated from the alkali-treated sludge is added with hydrochloric acid, etc., and appropriately controlled to about 2-5pH. By this method, about 80% of the component eluted from the digested sludge by alkali treatment is insolubilized and deposited.
