Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress the gaseous hydrogen to be generated during Fe plating so as to improve plating efficiency and to prevent the exfoliation of an oxidized film by spalling, etc., by using a power supply of 100-1,000Hz AC frequencies at the time of producing a magnetic recording medium by packing the plating of a ferromagnetic metal by using the AC power supply into the fine pores formed by anodic oxidation of Al or Al alloy. CONSTITUTION:The Al film having a prescribed thickness is formed by a vacuum deposition method on a PART film having a prescribed thickness. This vapor deposited Al film is anodized in a sulfuric acid bath and the ferromagnetic metal is plated and packed into the formed fine pores by using the AC power supply. The AC power supply within the 100-1,000Hz or/and 200-800Hz range is used at this time. Fe, Co, Ni or the alloy thereof is adopted for the ferromagnetic metal. The gaseous hydrogen to be generated during the plating is suppressed, by which the plating efficiency is improved and the exfoliation of the oxide film by the spalling, etc., is prevented.
