CONSTITUTION:At the time of loading the magnetic tape 1, the linear tape 1 is simply advanced by a guide post 2 to contact the surface of a plate 3. At the time of starting to travel the tape 1, the endless belt 4 is driven and travelled by a motor 5C through the pulleys 5, 6. Then, one of the head 7 disposed at the endless belt 4 contacts the magnetic core with the end thereof with the tape 1 and is driven and travelled in the slit 3C of the plate 3. According to a signal fed to a signal line, a recording and reproducing by a helical scanning is carried out. When one of the head 7 completes scanning one track of the tape 1, the next track is scanned by the next head 7.
