Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove burrs, etc., without flawing the designed surface of an aluminum wheel cut with the designed surface and to surely prevent the generation of filiform corrosion by subjecting the aluminum wheel to an electric discharge machining process, then to a chemical conversion treatment and clear painting. CONSTITUTION:The burrs 30 generated in the edge part of the aluminum wheel at the time of machining are removed and the edge part is rounded if the aluminum wheel is subjected to the electric discharge machining process by using a discharge electrode 26 of an electric discharge machining type for deburring after machining of the designed surface 22 thereof. The wheel 21 is then subjected to the chemical conversion treatment to form a chemical conversion film thereon. The entire surface of the wheel 21 is thereafter subjected to the clear painting 31 and baking. As a result, the coated film having the sufficient thickness is formed in the edge part as well and, therefore, the generation of the filiform corrosion starting from the edge part is prevented.
