Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a device lightweight and jointly use a clutch operating piston by connecting an outer drum for inside clutch to an outside piston and arranging an inside piston in the outside piston. CONSTITUTION:An outside outer drum 17a is formed at the tip of an input member 17 fixed to an input shaft 1b, an outside friction plate 11b and an outside piston 11c are arranged between it and an outside hub 11e to constitute an outside clutch C2. An inside friction plate 12b is arranged between an inside outer drum 12d and an inside hub 12a, a flange section 12e formed on the inside outer drum 12d is fixed to the outside piston 11c, an inside piston 12c is arranged on its inside to constitute an inside clutch C3. The inside outer drum 12d is formed with high-strength steel, the pistons 11c and 12c are formed with aluminum thereby made lightweight, and the pistons 11c and 12c can be jointly used when the four-speed type is changed to the three-speed type.
