Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure such a sliding material that brings its excellent frictional abrasion characteristic into full play by using an expanded metal consisting of stainless steel or a phosphor bronze alloy as a base, and covering the mesh and surface with a lubricating composition. CONSTITUTION:An expanded metal 1, consisting of stainless steel or a phosphor bronze alloy, provided with regular meshes is set down as a base. A lubricating composition mainly made of polytetrafluoroethylene resin and made up of containing phenol resin subjected to heat treatment as a filler or addition polymerization polyimide resin as much as 5-30wt.% is charged to meshes 2 and the surface of this base and covered thereon. This composition adapts itself well to the opposite material surface owing to flexibility of this expanded metal, and thereby in case of such sliding application as smoothly supporting rotation of the opposite material, it can be used without fatigue or the like. In addition, machining is easy enough and, what is more, it has an excellent frictional abrasion characteristic at its slide motion with the opposite material.
