Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a single crystal of an oxide superconductive contg. oxygen at a high ratio and has high quality by executing respective stages while projecting an oxygen beam on raw materials at the time of melting and slowly cooling raw material powders of an oxide superconductor and depositing the single crystal. CONSTITUTION:A crucible 1, an oxygen molecular beam generator 50, a heater 3, etc., are disposed in a furnace 5. The raw material powders 2 of the oxide superconductor (e.g.; Y2O3, BaO, CuO) are put into the crucible 1 and after the inside of the furnace 5 is evacuated to a vacuum by a vacuum pump 60, the raw material powders 2 are heated and melted by the heater 3 while the oxygen molecular beam 51 is projected thereon from the oxygen molecular beam generator 50. The molten raw materials of the oxide superconductor are then slowly cooled under the projection of the oxygen molecular beam 51 thereon to deposit the single crystal of the oxide superconductor. The oxygen of the sufficient quantity is thereby implanted into the single crystal of the oxide superconductor.
