Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently remove lightweight slag from circulating water by providing a semi-submerged trommel at the midway of the circulating water line of a water-granulated blast-furnace slag producing device, and controlling the turning speed of the trommel in accordance with the level of the circulating water on the upstream side and the concn. of slag in the circulating water. CONSTITUTION:The semi-submerged trommel 1 is provided at the midway of the line for the circulating water 2 of the water-granulated blast-furnace slag producing device. The level of the circulating water 2 on the upstream side of the trommel 1 is detected by a level gage 3, and the detection value is inputted to a controller 4. The turning speed of the trommel 1 is controlled through a motor 6 in accordance with the detection value and the concn. of slag in the circulating water so that the deviation DELTAH from the level set in a setting device 5 is diminished to zero. As a result, the lightweight slag can be stably and efficiently removed in accordance with the variations in the circulating water quantity and the concn. of slag in the circulating water, the quality of the granulated slag can be enhanced, and trouble due to the accumulation of lightweight slag in the circulating water line is reduced.
