Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent pinching due to tilting of bolt shaft when it is tightened laterally by fixing a rotatable bolt catcher having a pair of grasping pawls to a slider advancable integrally with a bolt runner to a predetermined position. CONSTITUTION:When a shutter 29 is opened and a bolt 28 is fed through a feed hose 27 into a feed pipe 26, the bolt 28 passes through a guide pipe and through-hole of a rotary shaft 30 then held between grasping pawls 31, 31. Upon rotation of the rotary shaft 30 by 90 deg., the rotation is transmitted to the grasping pawls thus causing rotation of the pawl 31 by 90 deg. and matching the shaft of bolt 28 between the pawls 31, 31 with the shaft of socket 19 of bolt runner 14. A slider 22 is stopped by a stopper then the socket 19 advances through the through-hole of the shaft 30 while compressing a spring 23, and upon further advance of the socket 19, the bolt 28 fits in a recess and held by the socket 19 while furthermore the grasping pawls 31, 31 are pushed open by the tip portion thereof thus unholding the bolt 28. Thereafter, the bolt 28 is pushed into the socket 19 then enters into a fixing hole 6a and tightened with a runner 14 thus finishing the work.
