Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve roughness of finished face and to lengthen service life of tool by rotating a spindle head such that the center of ball diameter of a ball endmill tool comes on the rotaty axis of the spindle head at all times, and varying inclination of the tool according to the shape of material to be cut. CONSTITUTION:Since rotary shaft of tool is inclined, no face is cut in the center of rotation of a ball endmill tool 1 and roughness of finished face is improved. When inclining direction of tool is varied around a cutting point, the tool 1 does not interfere with a material 2 to be cut not the coordinates of the cutting point require to be corrected, thus simplifying NC program. Since the cutting point can be varied freely, abrasion of tool is distributed resulting in a lengthened service life.
