Abstract
PURPOSE:To well discriminate abrasion under a high temp. atmosphere, by bringing the abrasion surface of a high hardness material to a definite surface contact state and arranging the test pieces composed of the high hardness material at the trisected positions on the circumference of a circle and bringing a friction slide member into contact with said three positions. CONSTITUTION:Test pieces 25 composed of a high hardness material are obliquely fixed to the surface of a base stand 10 at the trisected positions on the circumference thereof and the circumferential edge end part 27 of a friction slide member 23 is freely brought into contact with the test pieces 25 under set load. After the friction slide member 23 or the base stand 10 is revolved for a predetermined time, the abrasion quantities of the test pieces 25 are discriminated. Since the test pieces 25 made of ceramics for example are obliquely arranged at the trisected positions on the circumference of a circle, an abrasion test of a linear or limited plane can be performed and high accuracy becomes unnecessary in the outer shape dimension and surface smoothness of each of the test pieces 25. Further, the contact surface and load of the slide member 23 to the test pieces 25 become equal and the generation of deflection can be prevented.
