Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain di-(p-nitrophenyl)-urea, by reacting a compound prepared by substituting NH2 group of p-nitroaniline with Cl, Br or I with urea in the presence of AlCl3, BF3, SnCl2, diphosphoric acid, etc., as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A compound prepared by substituting NH2 group of p- nitroaniline with Cl, Br or I and urea at 2:1 molar ratio are mixed, saturated in an aqueous solution and reacted in the presence of AlCl3, BF3, SnCl2 or diphosphoric acid (H4P2O7) or a mixture thereof as a catalyst at 20-50 deg.C to afford the aimed compound expressed by the formula in high yield in a short time.
