Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a frequency characteristic by performing the gamma correction of a video signal by providing a means to detect the level of a reference pulse on the middle way to a video amplifier circuit, and a non-linear amplifier circuit capable of obtaining the reference level of a non-linear operation by a detected voltage level. CONSTITUTION:The reference pulses B and C are formed by utilizing each output of a horizontal deflection circuit and a vertical deflection circuit, and are inserted to a prescribed horizontal period H in the vertical blanking period of primary color signals R, G and B. A gamma correction circuit performs the gamma correction by utilizing the automatic adjusting circuit 1 of white balance. In other words, when a primary color signal D becomes larger than a prescribed value for the voltage level of the period of a reference pulse signal C, a transistor 18 is energized, and a resistor 18 is inserted to a primary color signal transmission line. When the level of the primary color signal becomes larger moreover, a state where a resistor 20 is inserted to the primary color signal transmission line is generated, and the gamma correction is performed. Therefore, it is possible to improve the frequency characteristic without necessitating to insert a resistor large in resistance in series with the cathode of a cathode-ray tube as in a conventional device.
