CONSTITUTION:The video signal supplied from a video detecting circuit to terminal 1 is input to clamp circuit 2, and video signal S1 which has the pedestal level set to prescribed level V0 by the clamp pulse from terminal 3 is obtained and is supplied to blanking circuit 4, and output signal S2 which has a section wider than the horizontal balnking time blanked by blanking pulse P1 from terminal 5 is generated and is supplied to peak hold circuit 6 to form hold output S3 corresponding to the peak level in the most black side in the video period, and this output S3 is compared with video signal S1 by comparator 8, and signal S4 whcih is more white-side level one of both signals is generated and is input to clamp circuit 10, thus obtaining signal S5 with the blanking time arranged into a prescribed level by clamp pulse P2.
