Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent increase of an amount of exhaust gas remaining in an actuating chamber, by a method wherein, when an inner pressure in a pressurized air passage is reduced to a value lower than a given value, auxiliary air is fed to the pressurized air passage. CONSTITUTION:Pressurized air is fed to each of three actuating chambers 26a-26c through a pressurized air passage 45 formed with a feed port part 42, formed in a rotor housing 12, and a passage part 44 connected to the feed port part. An auxiliary air feed means is provided for feeding auxiliary air in the pressurized air to the pressurized air passage 45 when an inner pressure in the pressurized air passage 45 is decreased to a value lower than a given value. The auxiliary air feed means is provided with an auxiliary air passage 52, having the one end coupled to a feed port port 42 and the other part coupled to a portion, running between an airflow meter 37 and a throttle valve 38, of a passage part 34, and a lead valve 55 located in the middle of the auxiliary air passage. This constitution forces the interior of the pressurized air passage 45 into a negative pressure state resulting from the influence of on intake air negative pressure, and prevents exhaust gas from being sucked in.
