Abstract

PURPOSE:To automate the operation of a mold clamping mechanism by providing specified inclined surface and recessed portion in a mold unit. CONSTITUTION:The tip part (9a) of an injection nozzle (9) is brought into contact with a mold unit immediately before injection molding. The mold unit 1 is pushed to a mold-holding member 6 by pushing force P along parting surface 2a, 3a. Mold clamping force W is applied to the mold unit 1, and the mold unit 1 is clamped by the wedge effect acting in between the engaging surfaces 6b, 6c of the mold-holding member 6 and the inclined surfaces 2b, 3b of the mold unit 1. When injection molding is achieved, molten resin is injected and packed into a cavity 4 through a sprue 5 from an injection nozzle 9. After injection molding has finished, the injection nozzle 9 is separated from the mol unit 1. The mold unit 1 is detached from the mold-holding member 6 by applying detaching force P' to the mold unit 1.
