Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the production process of a battery by stacking a current collector, a positive mix, a separator or a solid electrolyte mix, a negative mix, and a current collector, all of which are powder, in order, and by press- molding to form a five-layers tablet, or a fourlayers tablet by removing one current collector from the above combination. CONSTITUTION:As a current collector, a mixture of graphite powder and binder powder is put in a mold and pressed. As a positive mix, a mixture of gamma-manganese dioxide, a conductor, and a binder is put in the mold. As separator powder, a mixture of silica powder serving as an electrolyte supporter and a binder is put in the mold. As a negative mix, hydrogen storage alloy powder is hydrogenated, then mixed with a conductor and a binder, and the mixture is put in the mold. Again, current collector powder is put in the mold, then pressed to form a stratified tablet. The tablet is taken out from the mold and put in a battery container, and a potassium hydroxide aqueous solution is added to the tablet, then the container is sealed. The current collector decreases the internal resistance of a battery.
