PURPOSE:To accomplish coal drying in high efficiency, by forced fluidization of the coal in its packed stack in a virtical type coal drying oven while feeding hot gas through a plural of blow inlets. CONSTITUTION:Using a virtical type coal drying oven with a coal charging port 3 on the upper part, coal discharging port 5 at the bottom and the interior as the coal packed zone, the coal in said zone is forcedly fluidized while feeding hot gas through a plural of blow inlets 11 provided within said zone, thus accomplishing the objective coal drying. As said hot-gas, exhaust gas from e.g. boiler combustion, dry distillation can be used.
