Abstract
PURPOSE:To separate solids from solution without reduction of the concn. of the component to be measured, and to recover the original liquid quantity for a small quantity of culture solution or fermentation solution by using a three- layer filter paper makeup of different kinds of paper. CONSTITUTION:A culture solution is poured on a cartridge 4 with three built-in layers of filter paper 3, 2, 1 and is filtered under pressurized state by a pressurizing cylinder 2 firstly through borosilicate glass fiber filter paper 3 having holes of 0.8-1.0mum diameter, secondly through borosilicate glass fiber paper 2 having holes of 0.5-0.7mum diameter, and then through nitrocellulose membrane filter paper 1 having holes of 0.2-1.0mum diameter to finally discharge the filtrate from a filtrate outlet 6 of the cartridge 4. Thus, without the reduction of concn. of the component to be measured, solids are separated from liquid allowing to recover the original liquid quantity even in case of small quantity of sample solution.
