Abstract

PURPOSE:To exactly read a radiograph by moving the spot projection part of excitation light circumferentially on the surface of a phosphor layer according to the rotating angle of an optical path mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The spot projection part of the excitation light 2 moves circumferentially on the surface of the phosphor layer 1b according to the rotating angle of the optical path mechanism 10 when the optical path mechanism 10 is rotated by a rotational driving mechanism 11. The spot projection part of the excitation light 2 moves on the surface of the phosphor layer 1b along the axial line direction thereof if a supporting device supporting a radiation recording member 1 is moved in an arrow (a) direction by a driving mechanism. Since the center of rotation of the optical path mechanism 10 is in alignment to the central axial line of the phosphor layer 1b, the excitation light 2 enters the phosphor layer 1b perpendicularly from the center of curvature of the phosphor layer 1b having an arc plate shape in any position on the phosphor layer 1b. The trouble of the degraded resolving power rising from the incidence of the excitation light 2 to in the part inclined to the phosphor layer 1b is thereby eliminated and the radiograph is exactly read.
