Abstract

PURPOSE:To scan the luminous flux modulated by the character imprinting information reflected by the spiral reflecting surface erected on the outside peripheral surface of a rotary cylinder at a fixed speed on a photosensitive surface by rotating said rotary cylinder at a fixed speed. CONSTITUTION:A large-diameter surface 10a and a small-diameter surface 10b are formed on the outside surface of a rotary cylinder 10, and these are connected by a spiral section 10c which is perpendicular to these surfaces and is 45 deg. in lead angle, and a step surface 10d which is parallel to the shaft 16 of the rotary cylinder 10. A spiral step surface 10c is formed to mirror surface and this becomes as a reflecting surface. When the rotary cylinder 10 is rotated by an electric motor 12, a light spot 17 moves at a fixed speed in the direction of an arrow on the photosensitive surface 9a along with the rotation of reflecting 11. The light spot perpendicularly enters the photosensitive surface and since the shape of the light spot does not change in the central part and both end parts of the photosensitive surface, the uniform optical image is obtainable.
