Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a product having a uniform surface quality and to obviate the deterioration in the appearance quality, rust preventive effect, and coating film adhesion of an Al formed body by chemical conversion-coating and electrodeposition-coating the combination product of the electrodeposition-coated Al formed body and an iron formed body. CONSTITUTION:The engine hood 11 and fender panel 12 as the Al formed body are electrodeposition-coated, and combined with a main body 13, etc., as the iron formed body to obtain an automobile body 10 as the product. The main body 13, etc., are further chemical conversion-treated with a zinc phosphate film forming soln. In this case, the electrodeposition-coating film on the hood 11, etc., is chemically inert to zinc phosphate in the soln. and keeps a steady state in the soln., and sludge is never generated in the soln. The main body 13 is further electrodeposition-coated in succession to the conversion treatment. By this method, an electrodeposition coating film is not again formed on the Al formed body such as the hood 11, and a product having a uniform surface quality can be obtained.
